Legal Fees:

ACLF has strong belief that reasonable and affordable legal fees are not, and definitely should not, be an indication of low quality or poor experience, but rather, should be a goal for all law firms to strive to reach. In this context, our firm has worked vigorously to find out new and innovative ways to operate at a high standard of economic efficiency, yet without any compromise with effectiveness for our clients.

We typically charge our clients in any, or a combination of some, of the following types of fee arrangement, based on negotiation and agreement with the clients:

1. Hourly Charge:

We bill our clients at a fixed rate on hourly basis for consultation meetings and for works done on a particular case (i.e. preparation and issuance of legal opinions, due diligence service). The hourly rate is fixed based on seniority of attorneys and experts. We currently practice this fee arrangement with first time clients and client companies preparing to be listed on the Cambodian Securities Exchange (CSX).

2. Monthly Charge:

We charge consultation fee on monthly basis for continuous consultation and issuance of legal opinions on specific field of our clients. Currently, we are practicing this arrangement with such clients as banks (mostly on issues related to loan) and construction companies.

3. Task-based or Flat Fee:

We charge fixed flat fee for services delivered on certain legal matters such as company registration, application for business/industrial licenses, and preparation of simple contracts/wills.

4. Asset-based Fee:

For some categories of matters, we charge legal fee based on the amount of money involved. We usually practice this arrangement for such services as certification by attorney and preparation of real estate contracts.  

5. Litigation Service Fee:

Our firm provides legal services in all kinds of court litigation, be it divorce and family matters, civil, commercial, and labor disputes, or criminal issues. For litigation service, we charge flat fee that varies upon the complexity of the case.

6. Retainer:

For some specific cases, we require an advance payment of non-refundable retainer to cover costs accrued during the course of legal representation. We are practicing this arrangement, in addition to the hourly charge, with client companies preparing to be listed on the Cambodian Securities Exchange (CSX).
